I got apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. No, I'm sorry, I meant vanilla soup, not ice cream! Lol:

At the 70's disco. I got the disco ball drink! The container was cool, the drink was disgusting! (I managed to finish it though!):

Loving the review and pics

I want that Disco Ball so much...BUT I also hate the "rum punch"..

when I bought my coconut head they let me substitute (rum and diet coke as I recall...a bit hazy LOL)....and I am hoping to substitute something other than that rum punch when I sail on Spirit

did you ask/hear about substituting??

Did you get/see the "Blowfish" drink cup?? Did they have flashing glasses or just shot glasses?? If just shot...what sort of shot comes in the flasher??

I picked up flashers on NCL, MSC, and Royal and I would love a flashing Carnival cup/shot glass haha

Thanks in advance....would love love to go to Aruba

I'm also curious about those flashing shot glasses (those are so cool).

As for the disco ball cup, I bought one on the Dream in December ... you can buy just the cup without drink in it, so if they are serving something particular that you don't like, you can always just get the cup.

Also, I'm curious Jules, you've mentioned WiFi a few times. Was there free WiFi spots at each of the ports (I know I saw you mention it for Curacao and Aruba, but was it also at Grand Turk and Dominican?). I'm not an internet junkie and can live without my internet for the time I'm on the cruise, but just thought it would be cool to update facebook from another area.

I had read that you could substitute the drinks, but my husband was being sweet and bought the drink for me as a surprise, so I didn't have a chance to try that out.

I didn't see the blowfish drink! :( I really wanted that one, and I just didn't notice it anywhere. Not sure where they would've served it, but I was bummed! Will have to get it next time! (Hopefully)

I didn't notice "big" flashing cups, just the shots. Mine was something fruity (can't remember the name) and my husband's was a kamikaze. They didn't give you a choice at the deck party of what to drink, but they were serving them all over the place the entire cruise. I love the glasses!

DW and I did the same cruise last year on the Miracle. Your review brought back a lot of good memories. Thank you.

Thanks for reading!

Yeah, it definitely would have been better with a different drink. I really suffered through whatever was in mine! lol

In Grand Turk, the WiFi was kind of hidden. It was close to the bathroom area behind Margaritaville, where the buses drop off the excursion guests. We didn't notice it right away, but I saw all these people huddled in one spot with laptops, so that gave it away.

In DR there's really nothing at the port. There's a little shop that sells the basics, rum and stuff, but I didn't notice the WiFi there.

For future reference, and those that want those specialty cups. You don't have to wait for them to offer them. When we were on the Dream, I never saw anyone with a drink in the disco ball or the fish, so I asked at one of the bars if they had the cup (which is how I got the disco ball - I was told that another bar might have the blow fish, but I wasn't going to go hunting for it).

So you got the flashing shot glass where (and when)? I want to make sure I find me one of those, they are really cool.

They had them at multiple functions, but we got ours at the Mega Deck Party on Lido deck. :)

We slept in until around 10:30. Eddie went to Lido to grab me some (nasty) coffee. We were pretty tired from our late night, but we all planned on going to the second wine tasting at 1pm.

We met everyone at the Sun King Steakhouse at 1. This time Joe and Jake joined us as well. They presented us with "New World Wines" this time. It was a lot of fun and very informative. Marco, the sommelier, is just so passionate about wine, he's really a great instructor.

After wine tasting we went to Lido for a little while and then went back to our room to nap and get ready for the second formal night. We all dressed up again. Before heading down to dinner, Kristyl came to our room to inform us that Joe and Jake were having a little..discussion..with security. Apparently, their neighbor was upset with them, so she started trouble.

A little background. Joe and Jake had a lot of trouble with their room. It was very hot. On the first Sea Day, they called guest services to complain about their room temperature. Nothing happened. They called again when we were in Grand Turk, and still nothing was done. After our excursion in DR, I told them to go to the guest services desk. This time, a technician went to their room and saw that the temperature was 80 degrees. He fixed this by taking the cover off the vent and leaving it on their chair in the room. This didn't really help the situation all that much. To compensate for the hot room, they would put their garbage can in between their door to prop it open. On Friday, formal night, they had the door propped open and they were listening to some dub step using Joe's stereo. The way I heard it, their neighbor was not liking the music they were playing. Being the saint that she was, instead of asking them to turn it down/off, she walked by their room and kicked the garbage can in and told them to "turn the ******* music off". This of course startled my brothers. The woman then called security on them, even though she was being aggressive. They didn't even leave the room when she kicked in the can. Security seemed to not like my brothers (I wasn't there, but I bet they weren't being very "PG"...). When they started complaining about how hot their room was, security noticed their vent on the chair. They said Joe shouldn't have removed it, which of course he didn't, so again my brother's were even more upset. Another technician was sent up to their room. He put the thermometer in the room and it read 78. He then moved it right against the vent, and got a reading of 73. Security and the technician said 73 was an acceptable temperature and left. Joe and Jake went to guest services to complain about everything. The next morning they had a fan in their room (this was the last day).

Normally, I would have gotten involved, but they're old enough now to handle their own battles. I don't know the full story, only what they told me. I'm sure if they had used mature language it would have been handled completely differently, but they're a little immature and I do feel that Carnival handled everything pretty poorly. Joe was so upset he wrote a letter to Carnival. They didn't respond, so he sent it again. He finally got a response yesterday and all it said was 73 degrees is an acceptable temperature, hope you cruise with us again. So I'm not sure if the 2 of them will actually cruise Carnival again or not. We'll see how they feel in a few months.

Back to the cruise. This made Joe and Jake late to dinner. We had a sort of tense, but enjoyable dinner. Chaz came by and showed us some more cool tricks. The waiters danced. We were upstairs, so we missed the show for the most part. After dinner, we went to take some formal pictures. We went to the casino for a little while, but we quickly went through $10 and then gave up. We saw the comedian at 9:45. He was a ventriloquist. I never find them particularly funny, but at least he was better than the other guy from the night before. With not many other activities going on, we went to the Disco for a little while before heading to bed.

We did stand outside of the theater for a few minutes to catch a little of the "Ticket to Ride" show. It looked so good! The lasers were impressive. I wished my group wanted to sit and watch it with me, but they weren't really into it. Oh well...
