NCL Jade 12 April 2012

Hi,

Any fellow solos cruising on the Jade around the Canaries this coming week, departing Barcelona 12 April?

Just wondered if anyone goes/has been to the solo mixers on this ship? I've been a few solos cruises but never ventured to a mixer, with the exception of a lunch a couple of years ago on HAL.

I'm not on this sailing but I did the exact same itinery on the Jade in January. I am in my late 20's and was cruising solo. I went to the the first solo mixer on the first night and there was only myself and one older gentleman present. A third lady arrived a bit late but she didn't speak any English so ended up leaving. We went for dinner and found two further solos along the way when we asked for a shared table in the MDR.

 

I didn't go to any of the further solo events as found friends elsewhere (sitting at the bars, in particular the casino were where I met most people) but I was told by the host that the rest of them were much better attended.

 

It's always worth a try, you can always make your excuses and leave if it isn't for you! Good luck and enjoy :)

hey Lara....just back from the trip. Had a great time :D

 

Ended up at the solo mixer on the first night by complete accident. Met someone also travelling alone at the lifeboat drill and was still there talking when Andrés came along for the mixer *LOL* Only one other girl appeared but met a guy next day who had turned up late so we hung out quite a bit and had a laugh. Good to get some people to have dinner with. Didn't hit the casino, anytime I went in it was virtually empty :rolleyes:
