Invicta watches sold ?

Recommended Posts

Thanks, was going to buy one now but cruising on the Star in a couple weeks so may just hold out.

Get all the pricing info you need before getting on the ship. That way you'll know if the prices are good or not. :) Good news is that NCL is an authorized seller of all the brands in its shop so you don't have to worry about warranties or counterfeits

Do your research before you go on board. Invicta probably has the largest breadth of range of any watch company. Most are $100 watches but they may have a few, select variants that are worthy of higher prices. An independent watch forum that can help you understand the differences is watchuseek as they have an entire board dedicated to "affordable" watches where Invicta reviews can be found.

To late to edit so will post a clarification. As you will note, Invicta is not really accepted in the "fine watches" category by all collectors. Rather, they make a LOT of stuff and the majority of it is a $100 piece that they are trying to say is worth $600. Invicta does 'claim' some "limited production" pieces that they attempt to claim are worth $4K but the reality is that those pieces also sell at substantial discounts of around $1,200 in many cases and even those figures are suspect. Invicta is to watches as costume jewelry are to real jewelry. If you want a certain look, you can find an Invicta that will give you that "look" but you get it at a price and that price is often quality. So by "breadth of range" I mean lots of different LOOKS, not lots of different VALUES.

If you want to buy a "quality" watch that is of value, do your research on the watch forums that are like this cruise forum. it will save you a LOT of headaches and regrets. Watches like Hamilton, Longines, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Omega and other similar names generally hold their values better and delivery true quality in the metals they use as well as their mechanical movements and as expected will last far longer. A $2K retail US priced watch can be obtained in ports for as little as $600 through the grey market resellers and those are REAL values. You can often find similar deals here in the US through grey market but it can be difficult to know when you are getting the "best deal". Watch forums can help you sort the wheat from the chaft
