Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Hanukkah!

I did all the food prep I needed to do yesterday. I made au graten potatoes and a cranberry salad. all I have to do now is take them over to my BIL's for dinner. I will warm the potatoes up in their microwave.

There will be no shopping tonight or tomorrow for me. You couldn't pay me enough money to go out and fight those crowds. LOL

Have a great day everyone! :)

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We had a great time at Dave's brother's house. Lot's of good food and great laughs. My dad came with us. It's so nice that Dave's family has opened their arms and welcomed him into their home as if he were part of their family.

I had a real shocker when I opened my newspaper this morning. A guy I went to high school with was arrested and charged with murdering his 88 year old neighbor in an attempted robbery. I didn't know him well in high school. I went to a very large high and he ran with a different crowd but he was kind of popular. The crowd he ran with had a reputation though of being just a little too much into drugs and stuff.

Not much is going on now. Dave will hopefully put the Christmas tree up this weekend. He'll put the tree up and I will decorate it. Hopefully I'll get some help with the decorating from Staci.

Have a great day. :)

We survived Six Flags, barely. We are achy and sore but moving this morning. We watched DGS ride the go-carts, rode several rides and drank hot chocolate. We left about 8 and the kides rode a few more rides. Bettie has quilting today. I'm going to relax. May go to a movie. Hope everyone has a great day.

Had a lovely Thanksgiving with the kids! Ducks won the Civil War, our rivalry game with Oregon State, by 1 point. Very exciting game! I'm sad that football season is over, well except for the Bowl game. But home games in Eugene are over for the season, which means I don't get you see the kids every few weeks at games. :(

Heidi, that is very shocking about the guy you went to high school with!

Our realtor is showing the ranch Thursday. We also have a friend who is trying to put a deal together with a partner to buy the ranch. He's wanted our ranch for years! He has other property here in Valley Falls that would tie in well with ours. He's coming Tuesday to talk about his latest proposal. We would love it if he bought the ranch, because we could come back any time and visit, and Dave could come help him a bit and still get to spend time on the ranch he grew up on.

Good afternoon Cupids,

We are experiencing warmer temps today and tomorrow but ice is predicted for the end of the week. I'm not looking forward to that.

Sue, glad to hear that you had a good visit with the kids and DGD. Hope you hear some positive nears concerning your ranch.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Dave

Good afternoon Cupids,

The roll call for my Quantum cruise is now into "Part 3". That's allot of jabbering.:D And we still have a year and a half before we sail.

Hope everyone is having a great day. It's in the 70s here but we expect ice, freezing rain, sleet and maybe snow Thursday night into Friday and Saturday.

Be safe,

Dave

Just wanted to say hello again. Been so busy with trying to get everything done. We have 4 of us going. There is me, Esther, Chuck, my husband, my brother Richard and his wife Bev. They are from Seattle. WE are from Rhode Island. We were on the Breeze this past Feb. We love the ship. As I said before, we tried to book with group but didn't work out.

Are there any special things going on? We did a group one before on the Dream. We had a Casino Group which was fun. We had a bunch of us who all put so much in the pot. We all played the slots and split the jackpot. It was a lot of fun. I also volunteer to save dogs from all over the country. Thanks for letting us join in. I don't check all the time as I am busy posting the dogs and work full time. Esther I have two emails which I use all the time. saveadogaday50@gmail.com is the one I check all the time.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! It's 5 degrees BELOW ZERO this morning! I almost wish it would snow, because it would have to warm up in order for snow to fall. I said "almost".

Esther, glad to have you with us. It really doesn't matter that you didn't book with the group. You guys are still welcome to join us for anything we end up doing. I know we'll have at least one or two meet n greets.

Our friend met with us and has a plan that might work to buy the ranch. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it sounds pretty promising. Our realtor will be here today, and wants Dave to drive around with her and the clients to show the ranch. He will be able to answer any questions they have a lot better than she could, of course, so he doesn't mind.

Not to be a Grinch or anything, but I'm not putting a Christmas tree or decorations up this year. We'll be in Bend with the kids for Christmas, so it just doesn't seem like it's worth all the hassle. :o

Better get my rear in gear! I need to spruce up the house a bit before the people show up to see the ranch. I don't know if they will want to see the house, but I need to have it looking presentable just in case. Our realtor is bringing lunch for everyone, so I assume we will be eating it in my kitchen!

Sue, Brrrrr! Is correct. Yesterday we were in the upper 70s and today we are in the 30s with the temps dropping. Expect rain and sleet later tonight. I will go to work but will probably leave early.

Esther, as Sue stated, you are welcome to join in.with everyone staying all over Miami and Fort Lauderdale, we will probably not have a pre cruise dinner. Be sure to check back later about a Meet and Greet.

Yesterday was a snow day all over Oregon. Lots of school cancellations. Here in Valley Falls, we didn't get any until sometime in the night. Woke up to about an inch of snow, a lot less than most towns got.

Yesterday was kind of a sad day for me because it was one year since Zeke died. :( I know he left me when he did so that I could find Callie. Her owner was planning to take her to California to find a new home for her. Dave just happened to stop at the vet's office, where the owner works, to ask if they knew of any dogs needing a new home. The owner was happy to find a good home for Callie, and we are very lucky to have her! She's such a nice dog and I love her so much. Can't help but feel sad about Zeke though. He was a good boy and I do miss him.

P. S. for the new people, Zeke was a dog, not a person! Although we treat our pets a lot like people. :p My screen name, momofzeke, is named after him. I do have two lovely sons who are actual humans, but somehow the dog got the nod for my screen name! :p

Dave was so nice, he brought me flowers from town yesterday because he knew I was having a sad day. He's such a good Hubs!!

Hello Cupids!!!

Yes we are cold here also. We got 5 inches of snow. Luckily the ice missed us. I did have to go to work yesterday, but didn't have any problems, just took it slow. I was on the roads early though and that helps. 2 of the pre-op nurses called in so I got to work at 5 AM. It helped that there were only a few cars out at that time. Driving home at 4:30 the main roads were good, but the less traveled roads were still bad. Don't have any plans to leave home today. We are suppose to get snow flurries tonight and tomorrow morning. Also it we won't be above freezing until late next week.

Dave, We went through Fort Worth on Thanksgiving day and came back through this past Monday. We went to Killeen TX to visit Franks brother for Thanksgiving. It was nice having 70 and 80 degree days those few days. Hope your ice melts soon.

Everyone have a good weekend!

We have 10 more weeks before we will boarding the Breeze! :D

Howdy Cupids,

It's a very cold ay in Texas. We will only reach the low 20s for a high today. Our 2+ inches of ice is not melting.:( It's going to be a long weekend. We should be in the upper 30s tomorrow or maybe as high as 40. Should melt some of the ice. There was reported that 3000+ passengers were stranded at DFW airport. They were having a difficult time de-icing the planes.

Sue, hope today is a better day. I know you miss Zeke. I still have moments about our favorite cats.

Kathy, don't work too hard.

Later,

Dave

Good Afternoon!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. It was a busy week for me. Tuesday I worked both jobs. Wednesday I had a Christmas lunch to go to at my best friend's house then and that night was the agency Christmas party. Thursday I worked both jobs again. Friday I only worked one job but we went out to dinner when I got home. Today I am off. I went grocery shopping and made beef stew which is in the crock pot. Dave is putting up the Christmas tree finally. I will decorate it but I doubt he will finish today. He puts the tree up, puts the lights on and puts the village underneath it. It's quite a project. I put the ornaments on. We usually do it Thanksgiving weekend but the weather was so mild last weekend that he did the outside decorations instead.

Speaking of weather, it's cold here again but we haven't had any bad weather. The snow missed us.

I haven't finished my Christmas shopping yet but I'm probably about half way there. I've been doing it either on line or in short trips because my foot still hurts and I don't like to do a lot of walking right now.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Oregon is in a deep freeze all over the state. We were -20 degrees this morning, Lakeview was -26. Below zero temps all over. Our high for the next few days will be 20 or less, then it is supposed to warm up a bit starting Wednesday. We have a couple inches of snow.

We have our yearly budget meeting with our banker, who happens to be a great friend of ours, tomorrow. He comes to our house, which I'm glad for because I feel like I'm getting Dave's cold that he's had for the last week. :( My throat is sore this morning, and it just feels like I'm going to get it. Dang it! I was sick for over a month already, and was hoping to stay healthy for the rest of the winter.

We are also working cows Friday, and I'm not so sure I'll be up to that if the cold comes on. That's the day the vet could come, so we can't really change it. He will be pregging the cows that don't have a calf to see if they are bred. We have about 45 cows to check, so that will be a short day.

Hello Heidi and all the other cruisers!!

I think we got you beat for temperature...we had minus 45 with the wind chill. DH and I booked this cruise last weekend...it is the third leg to a B2B2B for us. Really looking forward to getting out of the deep freeze and snow.

Since there are many posts on this thread...could someone please give me a recap of events your group will be doing? We enjoy going to M&G, slot pulls, cabin crawls, etc. I'd also be interested in what people are doing in ports. We usually go for small private tours or cab rides.

Thanks and looking forward to meeting everybody!

Good afternoon Cupids,

Sue, that is some cold weather. Just wish we had snow. We have between 2 & 4 inches of ice and sleet. I need a chisel to remove it from the driveway. I've removed some today. The sun came out and it reached 36. A heat wave. Hope you feel better soon.

Heidi, you are just working too hard. Glad you were able to take a break this weekend.

Dave

I know how you feel, our house is not complete with our pets. Our "Duke" left us almost a year ago. I called him my devil puppy. He was always into something He was 6 weeks old when we got him and we had him for 6 1/2 years. He was a 75 lb brindled pit and shepherd mix. I know some people are scared of bigger dogs, but he defiantly was a lover not a fighter.

Like you we have 2 sons and one lovely daughter in law.

Jan, glad to have you onboard! So far, we really haven't organised much for the cruise. We will meet-&-greet as people board the ship in the Atrium Lounge, then again at sailaway (after muster drill). We also meet in the Atrium Lounge each evening for cocktails/visiting around 7 pm. There was talk of a cabin crawl, but the lady who was organizing it isn't going on the cruise anymore.

Ktravel, sorry about your Duke. I had my Zeke for 12 years. They really do become part of the family.

Another sub zero day. -15, so we are "warming" up from -20!!

My throat feels better today, so maybe I'm not going to get a full blown cold. Hope not!

Good afternoon Cupids,

We have finally warmed up to a balmy 36. The ice is melting but will probably refreeze over night. I'm at work but will leave early because of Jury Duty tomorrow.

Since Bettie and I have been married, we have had 3 cats. The last one passed away 2 years ago and she was 19. We adopted Chessie for our daughter after the first DGD was born.

Hope everyone is staying warm.

Dave

Welcome aboard Chris,

A cabin crawl is quite simple. Several people in the group opens up their cabins and we go marching down the halls to see the cabins. We try to get different class cabins. We may also to a poker crawl along with it. You put a dollar into the pot and at each cabin you pick a card. at the end, the one with the best hand wins the pot.

BTW, your English is quite good.

See onboard.

Dave

PS, doing the Doc Dance. I printed them out tonight. Yea! All the luggage tags say F2F.

Greets,

Chris
