I am booked next year on Freedom with my family, 7 adults, 4 kids ages 3 to 10. This will be a first with RCCL for all of us. I have a few questions I hope you or someone else on this thread can answer:

1. Evening entertainment and Ice Show: do you have to make reservations for all the shows ahead of time or just show up at whichever show you want to see? If reservations needed, when do you book, online before you go or once on board?

2. Are the children allowed into all the venues (maybe not the Casino or adult entertainment only nightclubs if such a thing exists) for any of the shows or games?

3. For MyTime Dining I understand you have to make a reservation for a specific time for each night and this can be done online before you go. What happens if you decide one day to eat in the buffet restaurant rather than the MDR, do you just phone and cancel the reservation for that day? Can just some of our party cancel for that night?

I'm sure there will be many other questions later on but if someone could answer these, that would be wonderful. My cruising experience is limited to Princess and Oceania.

Thanks so much.

Since no one answered you, I guess I'll take this one-

1. Yes you can make reservations for the ice show (and it's highly recommended) but they still let plenty of people in without reservations.

2. There's only two places I can think of where children are not allowed: The crypt (18+ after 10PM or so) and the solarium (adult pool). Although kids can walk through the solarium, they just can't stay. There are several shows that are recommended for adults only, but they won't force any children to leave.

3. If you choose not to eat in the dining room for My Time Dining it isn't really necessary to call and cancel, although they would probably appreciate it. The whole point of My Time Dining is that it's flexible so you can show up whenever with whomever and they will seat you accordingly. My party of 7 had reservations for every night (made online ahead of time) but some nights we were 2 hours early or 2 hours late and they always seated all of us together at the same table with the same waiter. I wish I hadn't even wasted my time making reservations online.

Can you tell me who the piano player was and if they were any good??

Thanks

I don't remember what his name was but he was very good! I'm guessing you are referring to the entertainment in the schooner bar?

how was park and ride at the end of the cruise?

They had a van waiting as the porter took us to the spot they pick up. I never called them, so maybe we got lucky. We were back at the car and on the road within about 15 min. I will for sure use park n cruise in the future. Very easy!

Skyking, my DH and I were on the same sailing. I have to say, you and Candice look very familiar. We also were at Chops on Monday night. It was a great experience. We probably ran into at some point on the cruise or saw you coming into Chops. Glad to hear you had a great time. We did also.

Disapointed in the review that we didn't have pictures and that we had long waits till your reported on the stops.

No kidding. It's not like anyone is getting paid for providing our pictures, thoughts, reviews, etc.

Take a chill pill.:p:p:p

Just about to relocate to Lakewood Ranch all the way from idiot California. Very nice area....

You'll love it here!

I left CA (Redondo Beach/Torrance area) 8 years ago and have not regretted it one bit.
