jolly3 Posted April 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2012 First time in Progresso. 3 wk count down and still undecided. We would like to see the ruins but can't do a lot of walking. Would also like to ck out local shopping. Not so much touristy trinkets. Wouldn't mind a little time on beach if time permits. We don't drink much so not so interested in price of drinks. Can anyone give us some advise.

must2cruz Posted April 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2012 Not sure if this will help you decide? We were there in February. Felt safe everywhere we went if you want to get off the "tourist trail" for shopping in town. We took the 3 dollar bus tour for cheap fun and then walked over to beach, not very far from where the bus drops you off from the pier ride. The bus tour will give you an idea on the town and the guide will be very happy to answer your questions. We don't drink anymore and just wanted time on the beach. Sat on our beach towels etc... Just let me know if you have any questions.
maldenmusic Posted May 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2012 The Dzib ruins are very flat and open and don't take a ton of walking. They are worth seeing if you think you would like that sort of thing.
