2girlsnlovefl Posted April 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2012 so we have always taken this one suitcase that is pretty large think the size of a trunk just not as thick. we drive to the port so we don't have an issue with airlines. i just printed out our luggage tags for our legend cruise this sunday:eek: and they said the suitcase should not exceed 24''w16'h. i have never seen this before on my previous cruises. i bought this suitcase just for cruising because it fits everything. will i have a problem?? serene56 Posted April 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2012 how heavy will it be once you get everything into one bag?
c51 Posted April 19, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2012 As for us, our luggage is 31h by 21w. Never had an issue at the airport or cruise ship. We just used it this past January. And have used this for the past 10 years. I am just guessing that you shouldn't have a problem. Call your cruise line and ask them if it will be an issue. *Mach* Posted April 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2012 Have no fear... it's only a recommendation... Guests are encouraged to limit their checked luggage to two suitcases per person, with each suitcase not to weigh more than 50 pounds and not exceed 16"H x 24"W (no length restrictions). Please attach your Carnival Cruise Lines luggage tags PRIOR to leaving home and make sure that they are still on your bags when checking in with us. In many ports, guests have the option of carrying luggage on board at embarkation and off the ship at the end of the cruise as long as it does not exceed 16"H x 24"W (no length restrictions). This is an advantage you may want to consider as it will allow for quicker easier access to your bags. Please note that Carnival assumes no responsibility for carry-on luggage. http://www.carnival.com/Core/FAQ.aspx?faq=luggage+restrictions#q-545373 Emphasis mine... :)
ChefSusan Posted April 19, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2012 Sounds like you should not have any problems, as long as you are checking the bag. To be on the safe side, I would call Carnival directly. Enjoy Legend - we're sailing on her in a month!

CRUISE4JANE Posted April 22, 2012 #7 Share Posted April 22, 2012 Glad you got an answer. I can't . I was wondering about a 26 upright (26 x 18 x 9 exact dimensions). I also have a 30 upright (30 1/2 x 21 x 10 in. exact dimensions)). Wondering if either can go through. I hear people carrying all kind of stuff even on dollys. I hate to have to carry on all this, but I have been hearing about some not getting luggage until later, sometimes a day or so .
