NOLA pre-cruise stay advice needed

Recommended Posts

Not sure if your $400 is for one night or more, but we stayed in Le Pavillon a week and a half ago for just over $200 per night. Prices were a little high throughout the city for the FQ festival that weekend so it may be that you could get a whole weekend for $400. It's a beautiful hotel. A doorman with top hat and tails greets you at the door. All the employees we encountered were extremely friendly and professional. We had a king sized room, the room was spacious but the bathroom was on the small side, which is understandable considering the building is over 100 years old.

It's a quick cab ride to the FQ or Riverfront, both are within reasonable walking distance as well. There's also a Rouse's market just two blocks away for any carry-on soft drinks or wine you may want to pick up.

Any more questions just ask!

Hello,

Taking honeymoon cruise out of NOLA and looking for suggestions on nice romantic places to stay in NOLA for $400 or less.

Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

Since it's a honeymoon, and since you seem willing to spend for the experience(and rightly so), have a look at the Hotel Monteleone. It's a luxurious, historic hotel, right in the Quarter.

As an alternative, you could try one of the little boutique hotels in the Quarter or in the Garden District. Have a look at Hotel le Marais, or the Soniat house, for instance. Run a search on "New Orleans Boutique hotels" and you'll get plenty of options.

How many nights. I think a great hotel fou you would be either the Chateau Sonesta on Borbon or the Omni Royal Orleans. both hotels are beautiful and in the heart of French Quarter.

Hi Mickey,

If your budget is for one night pre-cruise I would check out a balcony room suite at the Bourbon Orleans. It is centrally located (right behind St. Louis Cathedral) We have stayed in one for our anniversary and enjoyed it tremendously. The suites are actually two floors with the first floor the living area. To get to your bedroom you climb a beautiful staircase. Very romantic :).

Another option is to get a balcony room overlooking Bourbon St. at the Royal Sonesta. We've stayed there as well. Now don't plan on getting any sleep before 2 or 3 AM or later as Bourbon St. will be jamming. :D.
