Itinerary Help Please!

April-in-NC

Recommended Posts

I thought we were all set to take a cab to Carlisle Bay and hire a local boat to take us to the turtles for an hour or so but after talking with my parents today they are interested in going to Andromeda Botanic Gardens.

I see that the gardens are near Bathsheba (that I would like to ee if we're that close) but I also see that there are other "flora" spots that may be better to see.

Here is what I need help with... How long does it take to get to Bathsheba/Andromeda? My Dad has limited mobility (he can walk, just slowly and with a limp and has a hard time on rocky/sandy soil) so is the Andromeda Botanic Gardens the right place for us to go to get scenic views and beautiful flowers?

Right now I'm leaning towards hiring a taxi to take us to Bathsheba, then to Andromeda (or whatever is recommended) and then taking us to Carlisle Bay for the afternoon. Will this work? Will the turtles disappear in the afternoon? I see most tours do this in the morning.

Thanks for any help that is offered!

I've never been to the gardens myself...

B'Town to Bathsheba is about 1/2 hour or so, depending on traffic.

The Gardens are close to Bathsheba, maybe 5 mins or so by cab...

If you hit Carlisle in the afternoon, you may or may not see turtles. I found that we always had better luck seeing turtles in the morning...

Maybe someone else here can offer more info.

Cheers, P:)
