The breadknife is an avid watcher of the TV programme Deal Or No Deal (YAWN) - she has asked me to enquire if anyone can expand on how it is played on the ship? Also is it like the programme on TV? :) :confused:

We played it last year on the Jewel, it is kind of like the show, you purchase a card for $20.00, it is linked to your room key card. They randomly scan through the bar codes of your card and when it is stopped or however that works the name of the person appears on the screen, that person goes on stage to play the game, and you pick boxes and wipe out the amounts on the board. The audience plays along with you, if you get a $20.00 the audience opens up their $20.00 box. If you get 3 you win so much, if you get 4-5, I dont remember what my sister got but she won $100. Someone that was playing at the time we were won a free cruise and someone won $1000. It was alot of fun. I didnt win anything but it was fun to play.

and if you don't want to play, you don't have to buy a card to watch.. I just watched the show for entertainment value.

The card you buy is simply an expensive lottery ticket, where when you open all your tabs you win if you match enough on your ticket. It doesn't matter what is shown on the stage screen. If you have matches it is only good as one match for the night/cruise.
