Andy Posted June 8, 2012 #26 Share Posted June 8, 2012 Hi BridgeMaven, Just wanted to say thanks for your excellent information. I'm a huge Disney fan, and have always wanted to sail on a Disney ship - One time. We are considering a family Cruise of 20-25 guests, and may take a look at Wonder when she visits Miami in Early 2013. I'm really torn, as we are extremely loyal to Celebrity. As there are several children involved... I feel Disney may be the best choice. I wonder if I can be happy on a Cruise, without the warmth & excellent service of the Celebrity crew, and without a Casino for 7 days. Then again, it's not about me, as we are fortunate to Cruise often. It's about making my family happy. Hopefully, sailing with Mickey can make up for missing what we love about Celebrity. Bridge Maven Posted June 10, 2012 Author #27 Share Posted June 10, 2012 A few more random thoughts. Our ship, The Disney Dream, was gorgeous, elegant, and very tastefully done. One of its specialty restaurants has a formal dress code every night, so people who love formal nights can have one whenever they feel like it. There was one semi-formal night during our cruise and it was so cute to see the kids dressed up. It was very easy to find a quiet spot in a lounge that was conducive to chatting with friends and relatives. The private island had so many chairs and lounge chairs that anyone who wanted one was able to get one. The private island had an adults only section for people who wanted to enjoy the beach without children. Normally I think cruise line transfers from the ship to the airport are overpriced, but we paid only $35 per person for a transfer from Port Canaveral to the Orlando airport which is less than what most private companies wanted for that one hour drive. In addition, by providing information for our flight home, we received boarding passes for it during the last day of the cruise and baggage tags for our luggage at no extra cost. We then put our tagged luggage outside our cabin door on the last night of the cruise, and didn't see it again until our flight landed in Connecticut. Bridge Maven Posted July 1, 2012 Author #28 Share Posted July 1, 2012 In addition to being able to find a lounge chair on their private beach, no matter what time it was, we were always able to find a lounge chair by the pool at any time.
