Just back from the Ecstacy

If you are looking for a brand new, fancy shmancy ship....this is not it. This is an older ship that is given much love by those that work on it and has crew that will do anything to make sure you are having a great time!

I took my daughter on the 5 nt that went to Nassau, Freeport, and Key West. This trip was about total relaxation and not following a schedule. We did just that!

We had a fantastic time. If you have any questions ask away. I will post a trip report in the next few days.

You are on the right ship! Yes, there is sushi nightly in 2 places. There is a small bar that offers three different rolls nightly on deck 9 near the casino. They also have two different rolls at the buffet every night. Always yummy!

My wife and I just got back from this same cruise as the OP. Elegant night was on Night 3 (Freeport). What a great trip! Everything was great, from the food, to the service, to the CD Steve Cassel, to the shows.......we had a great time!!! (Even with soggy weather in Freeport and for part of the sea day).

The saying of the cruise....'come on Gary' !....Steve and Gary made the cruise for us. The first time I saw them I looked at my daughter and said..'Really....they are the cruise director and assistant.'.......by day 2 I knew why!

We are booked on the Ecstasy in Oct.and cant wait.We are not into the big ships but love the Elation so this should be perfect!Do they offer the mongolian BBQ?What did you do in FREEPORT?

Mongolian BBQ......YES!

Freeport: Took taxi into Port Lucaya and walked around the markets. Walked across the street and swam for a little while...took taxi back to port and got back on the ship. We did not have great weather but many water based excursions offered. Thoroughly enjoyed the Serenity deck that day!

One more question???Is the cheif's Table on the Ecstasy in the kitchen or in the library?(where is the table set up?)The reason I ask is that on the Dream we had friends do it and they said it was really hot and loud but if its in the library then we are going to do this.Thank you!

I was on this cruise too! I thought everything was great.. except for my room steward and the shaking waking us up coming into port each morning [ I'm usually a sound sleeper and LOL at the people who say they can feel the ship that much but now I know it's possible-lol ] but DEF not a deal breaker- we still had a GREAT time! I'll post a review too - LOTS of pics!

We didn't go, but we saw it happening. It was held in the Library. Don't remember which night, though.

We were in cabin M8 which is a porthole cabin. We had a porthole cabin on the Fascination and we loved it, so we booked it for this trip. We can vouch for the shaking and the noise coming into port. The only sounds we heard on Fascination was the big, rumbly noise of the anchor dropping for tender port stops. Other than that, it was really quiet. On this trip, it was very noisy going into and out of port, especially when they would do that sideways push-off thing from the piers. Oh well...

I was on the Ecstacy in November 2011 and had some of the same issues that everyone has had. Besides bad weather in Freeport and a little noise early in the morning this was one of the best cruises I have had so far.

Very relaxing ,not to noisy and great food. The perfect weekend getaway!!:)

DW and I have been on the Ecstacy twice, the first time it was really showing it's age. The sound system on deck was tinny and difficult to hear, there was rust all over the place and the decks were worn. The second time someone gave us a cruise on the same ship as a gift, they had givin it a complete overhaul, everything was fresh and clean, the speakers worked and we had a much better time. All in all I am not a fan of the smaller ships on cruises over 5 days, you run out of places to explore.

We did the Chef's Table on the Ecstasy back in April. They started out by meeting in the library, then a tour of the kitchen with champagne and some appetizers as well as a demo of how to make WCMC.

The majority of the courses were served in the library however, it was very comfortable.

My review of Nassau and the Chef's table is here:

We loved it and would do it again without hesitation.
