June 2013 Cruise on the Allure

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow cruisers....

Looking to book a week on the Allure June 2013 and I see RCI has a 'sale' on starting tomorrow. Is it worth booking now for a family of 4 or are there better deals to come?

We want to book two adjoining cabins w/balconies and do the Western trip this time. My wife and I did the Eastern trip last year and loved it.

Cheers...Don

2 perks of doing the wow sale....

your deposit will be reduced by half(it does not change the price of the cruise...you just arent putting as much down initially). For a family of four this is great as some struggle w/ the initial deposit.

and the OBC.

Well it depends on your family really. The 50% reduction in deposit sounds great but you still have to come up with the money to pay for the cruise, there is no discount on the room. You also get a nice little $100 OBC for most sailings (6-9 day sailings) per stateroom. For us the $100 doesn't make it worth running and grabbing a room.

If you have dates set and know you want to sail on those dates, sure you can book it. You can also hold off a bit and play a little Casino Royal. Rates change hourly, daily, weekly. They are constantly changing! Three months from now those rooms could be $300 cheaper per room ... or $300 more expensive. We prefer to watch prices and lock in when we see it lower. Just today I have seen the price change several times on a cruise we want to take in June 2013.

In short, the WOW sale isn't really a sale as in a reduction of cost of the room.
