Another bunch of questions.

First-time cruiser, so here goes

(you will be able to tell "I don't know nuttin'").

We have a W Carib cruise in Feb, 2013 on Carnival Magic. And I have a group of questions. If you have some experience in the following areas, I would like to have your input. Thanks in advance.

A. DRINKS

1. Non-alcoholic. I L:)VE to drink Diet Dr Pepper. Let me clarify that last. I L:)VE to drink Diet Dr Pepper, on ice in my 52-oz insulated mug. So that means I will NOT be getting one of their SODA CARDS since they only serve one 16-oz drink at a time.

Q - Will Carnival let me bring aboard a 12-pack of Diet Dr Pepper? Or is this verboten?

2. Alcoholic. My wife and I want to bring aboard two bottles of wine, one red and one champagne. I understand the limitation of 750ml per bottle per person. BUT, the champagne we prefer also comes in splits. Each split is 187ml, so four splits = 748ml.

Q - Will Carnival let me bring aboard four 187ml splits (i.e., limiting me based on amount of alcohol),

or

will they only allow one bottle regardless of size (limiting me based on number of bottles)?

B. CASINO

I have tried to get an answer, but to no avail. When I go to the casino, my S&S card will be tied to my credit card, NOT to cash. Will I be allowed to set up a bank of $XXX that way, or do I have to have hard currency to link up to the casino?

C. EXCURSIONS

My wife and I are not scuba divers, nor do we ride horses. So, do you have any input on excursions we "must" see/do in Cozumel, Montego Bay, or Grand Cayman? All your input appreciated here.

Again, thanks in advance

Will I be allowed to set up a bank of $XXX that way, or do I have to have hard currency to link up to the casino? You can use cash in the casino if you wish, or you can tie your sign and sail account to your players club account

The sting rays are good in Grand Cayman and doesn't require any diving. In Cozumel we enjoy the Passion Isla via Twister...high powered boat ride to a private island with open bar and lunch. Montego Bay, a day at an all inclusive is always nice.

Again, thanks in advance

Have a great cruise!

Yes you can each bring a 12 pack of non-alcoholic beverages onboard, up to 20 oz in size/

2. Alcoholic. My wife and I want to bring aboard two bottles of wine, one red and one champagne. I understand the limitation of 750ml per bottle per person. BUT, the champagne we prefer also comes in splits. Each split is 187ml, so four splits = 748ml.

This one depends on who checks your baggage~ some will allow smaller bottles that equal the amount total some won't~ so its hard to say for sure.

You can use cash in the casino, just put in your S&S card set up your casino account but instead of uploading money from your S&S card just add cash~ is that what you're asking??

For Grand Cayman a must do is the Stingrays~ amazing experience!!! Mo Bay we just went to Doctors Cove beach~ Coz we just hang out in the port area

Again, thanks in advance

See my answers in red~

Dunno if they sell your favorite soft drink in Mexico, but you can also bring soda back from each port. At least I have. (Once I even openly carried a 6 pack of beer back aboard in Puerta Vallerta and they let me take it with me instead of turning it in.)

Dunno what to say about the 750 ml size. We HAVE taken a 1.5 liter bottle between the 2 of us ... but this was out of L.A. and I've read that in other ports they're more strict.

I've had chips put on my S & S card in the casino at BJ ... and our S & S card is always connected to our charge card.

No horses, no scuba. That leaves lots of other stuff to do. Check the excursion list on your cruise or just wing it. Beaches and Booze ... lol. And I agree with the other posters ... Stingray city is a must.

Galveston was very strict when we sailed out in August. They checked every water bottle and gatorade to be sure each was sealed. Only 750 mil wine and they checked it close too. But on the up side, each of you can take the soda and a bottle of wine.
