I would think the ground would be hot so you need shoes but if you have your flip flops, do you carry them on the rides? My DH doesn't have cheap flip flops so I need to get him a pair. He has leather Reefs but I don't want them to get ruined. If you are planning on doing the lazy river (current) I recommed water shoes - no buckles or snaps allowed). If you are just walking on the pathways to the beach, flip flops would do. In the summer you can fry an egg on the walkways and pools areas. As for the rides, you can hold onto your flip flops, but not any other kind of sandal that would be hard or have grommets, buckles or snaps.
