dgund Posted May 15, 2005 #26 Share Posted May 15, 2005 I am also worried about United possibly going on strike. We have tickets to Honolulu for June 11th.
Corym Posted June 19, 2005 #27 Share Posted June 19, 2005 JetBlue and AirTran fly the youngest fleets in the US. JetBlue - Airbus. AirTran - Boeing. That's a completely irrelevant statement--jetblue didn't even exist back when UA/US placed their first orders for ANY Boeing or Airbus aircraft. Of course they have the youngest fleet--jetblue has been flying for 5 years, airtran for around 15 with different names. And you think service will be picked up to a city if US goes down the tubes in less than 24 hours? With planes pulled from the Mojave desert? I'm no expert, but I imagine it takes a hell of a lot longer than 12 hours to ready a plane that's been sitting in a desert for a few years without any maintenance. bUU Posted June 19, 2005 #28 Share Posted June 19, 2005 The fact that they're flying the youngest fleet is not irrelevant. The age of the fleet has a very strong impact on costs.
