Iluvcruising2 Posted July 2, 2012 Author #251 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Back on the ship, we went to collect our kids. This picture shows them hovering over the iPad. We told the stateroom attendant to just leave the sofa bed as a bed, rather than converting it from bed to sofa every morning and then sofa to bed every evening. Bathroom. Bathtub. Iluvcruising2 Posted July 2, 2012 Author #253 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Dinner. I didn't take a picture of the menu that evening. Must have been dreaming. This was some spring rolls. Some clear Asian-styled soup. I think my kids enjoyed this one.
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 2, 2012 Author #254 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Some chicken thigh. Tasted pretty good. This was the dessert menu.
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 2, 2012 Author #255 Share Posted July 2, 2012 The Voyager left at around 7pm. The ship had to do a 180deg turn - the wonders of Azipods and bow thrusters It was quite interesting! It was rather wet! We certainly had a rainy day at Xiamen. wolfegizmo Posted July 2, 2012 #257 Share Posted July 2, 2012 I just reread your entire review again! Thanks so much! I can't wait to see Singapore and go on our cruise in October! What would you suggest for some must see things to see in Singapore as we will be there for a few days after the cruise.
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #258 Share Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) I just reread your entire review again! Thanks so much! I can't wait to see Singapore and go on our cruise in October! What would you suggest for some must see things to see in Singapore as we will be there for a few days after the cruise. Glad you liked the review & welcome back to Singapore!! Some suggestions in no particular order: 1) Gardens by the Bay 2) Singapore Flyer - the views now should be breathtaking in the evening and at night. 3) Singapore Zoo 4) Chinatown 5) Little India 6) Orchard Road 7) Universal Studios (if you are into theme parks) Not sure what other interests you may have. This is the official Singapore tourism website where you may get more ideas. http://www.yoursingapore.com/content/traveller/en/experience.html Edited July 3, 2012 by Iluvcruising2
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #259 Share Posted July 3, 2012 This photo was taken about 9pm on Day 7, after the ship departed from Xiamen. The band played a few pieces in the Royal Promenade. Very cool.
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #260 Share Posted July 3, 2012 Day 8. Our last day which was a sea day. We were very sad that the cruise was coming to an end so soon!
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #261 Share Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) For some reason, we decided to attend an art auction on the last day at sea. They offered free champagne. You could drink 2 or 3 if you wanted. Many pieces were not sold. But there were some pieces sold, below $1,000. I noticed usually there was just one bid. One guy (I believe he was South Korean) actually bought a piece for USD6,300!! Edited July 3, 2012 by Iluvcruising2
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #262 Share Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) We had lunch in the MDR. They use Deck 3 dining room. On sea days, it gets rather busy. Edited July 3, 2012 by Iluvcruising2
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #263 Share Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) Back to the art auction, this piece was rather interesting. Art on metal. However, it was rather expensive. I don't think anybody bought it. Edited July 3, 2012 by Iluvcruising2

Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #266 Share Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) Dessert time! The crepes are a deadly combination when it comes to calories!! At home, on a day-to-day basis, we don't eat desserts at all, other than cut fruits. I am missing the cruise already. Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #267 Share Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) Kids' club time. They held the Talent Show on Day 8 afternoon. We can see that the kids had a really fun time. A lot of rapport between the kids and the Youth staff. This was some play put up the a group of boys. Another short play put up by a group of girls. The ring leader was this 11-year old (the tall girl) Edited July 3, 2012 by Iluvcruising2
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #268 Share Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) The club Manager (a guy called No-Hair Pierre) told me that there were fewer than 300 kids on this cruise. I think only a small fraction went to Kids club. At the talent show, there were probably about 50 to 70 kids, max. Kids who performed got a very nice medal. 3 young girls doing the hula-hoop. Really cute. The cutest solo performer was a 4 year old Australian white girl who sang, by herself, twinkle twinkle little stars in mandarin! Awesome. Pity I didn't take a picture of her. Iluvcruising2 Posted July 3, 2012 Author #272 Share Posted July 3, 2012 Day 8 dinner was also the performance night for the MDR staff. Desserts were served after the song. They sang 2 songs, one in Italian, the other in Mandarin Chinese. You can see all passengers with their cameras ready. The singers!!

mike@sea Posted July 3, 2012 #274 Share Posted July 3, 2012 Please re-board the ship asap and don´t stop this picture review...! This can´t possibly come to an end here... :-))) As said before, thank you so much for taking the time. This is by far the best I have seen on cruisecritic in 6 years, which way too often is all about gossip and bashing others that have a different opinion. You have also been a great ambassador here for Singapore..! ;-) This is how this site should be! Balanced yet personal. Thank you !
