CruisinPaul Posted May 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2005 I will be on the Carnival Legend in June going to the eastern caribbean (San Juan, St Thomas and Tortola) Can someone tell me do yuo observe ship time (eastern Time) or port time when in port. I want to make some dinner reservations in Old san Juan and assuming my reservation would be port time But what does the ship observe. i believe it is 1 hour earlier in Puerto rico. Thanks for your responses
Cabin8538 Posted May 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2005 On another recent cruise where we crossed time zones, we were told to turn our clocks ahead / back each evening that we would cross into another time zone. Then ship time and port time would have been the same. This was Disney Cruise Line's policy.
TrentS Posted May 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2005 In June "ship time" and "port time" will be the same, and there will be no changing of clocks... Puerto Rico does not observe daylight savings time, therefore it's the same as US Eastern time in the summer... In the winter Puerto Rico is 1 hour LATER than US Eastern time.
