Will light gray suit be alright on formal nights on Alaska cruise ?

Recommended Posts

I have a light gray suit, will it be ok for formal dinners or do I need

to buy a dark suit ? We will be on northbound Alaska cruise in June

on the Ryndam.

Hope not to get thrown overboard for not being in a dark suit.

Once HAL started calling a sport jacket 'formalwear', I think any color suit would be fine. Enjoy your cruise. :)

From the HAL Formal Night Dress Code:

(Gentlemen: Although business suits or tuxedos are suggested attire for formal evenings, they are certainly not required. You are welcome to wear a jacket and tie on formal nights.)

When we've cruised Alaska on HAL ships, we've been amazed at the informality of the cruisers. A light gray suit would be acceptable on any HAL cruise for formal night (Except possibly the world cruise) IMHO.
