Iluvcruising2 Posted July 8, 2012 Author #55 Share Posted July 8, 2012 Day 2, the ship was docked at Fujairah Port.
Iluvcruising2 Posted July 8, 2012 Author #56 Share Posted July 8, 2012 Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fujairah Fujairah (Arabic: الفجيرة Al Fuǧaira) is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, and the only one on the Gulf of Oman in the country's east instead of on the Persian Gulf (the other six emirates). As a whole, I think the UAE is a very progressive Islamic country, compared to some other Middle Eastern countries. See the buses lined up to take passengers on the cruise tours. Iluvcruising2 Posted July 8, 2012 Author #58 Share Posted July 8, 2012 Even though this was a port day, we decided to give this port a miss. My parents, sis & hubby went onshore though. This was the atrium.

Iluvcruising2 Posted July 8, 2012 Author #62 Share Posted July 8, 2012 Don't be mistaken, the ship's water from the tap is perfectly safe to drink. But we just have this practice of buying plenty of bottled water for our personal consumption when in our cabin. We got this from a supermarket near our hotel, before boarding the ship. Iluvcruising2 Posted July 8, 2012 Author #63 Share Posted July 8, 2012 Since we didn't go onshore, there was plenty of time, to swim! Wife & kids had great fun on the water-slide. Take note that the slide was only opened about 2 to 3 hours each day, usually in the afternoons. A staff would be stationed at the start of the slide, to ensure safety. When closed, the door leading to the slide would be locked. View of the slide and the children's pool beside it.

avazah Posted July 8, 2012 #71 Share Posted July 8, 2012 Great pictures so far! I'm loving seeing all the details about a cruise that I'd LOVE to go on, but really isn't possible in the foreseeable future... Iluvcruising2 Posted July 9, 2012 Author #74 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Another view of the Brilliance, as we approach it. Dubai doesn't have a proper cruise terminal. It is a big white tent.
