Which Crown Loft to choose? (Cabin #)

Recommended Posts

We decided to go for the upgrade.

The price of the Crown Loft Suites has dropped to a point for our August Eastern Caribbean Cruise on Oasis that we have decided to go for it.

My question is which cabin should we pick??

Any help appreciated.

I have looked closely at available pictures online, and studied the deck plan.

I think we have ruled out the aft facing rooms, as we want more privacy and a view of the ocean.

Having said that would Port or Starboard be better?

Closer to the front? Or closer to the back?

The rooms look all the same size.

But balconys/views might be better?

It looks like the railings curve cutting off a bit of the ones on either end?

Would a middle be best?

Also 1704 and 1754 might have slightly larger balconys from the deck plan?

And does 1702 have an extra little bit of cabin?

Would love to hear from anyone with first hand information.

At this point available cabins are: 1752, 1750, 1746, 1706, 1708, 1710, 1712.

Help us pick one!

1702 does have an extra little bit of cabin because it has small foyer when you enter then have to turn left into the main cabin. I liked this layout better but beware, the balcony is tiny and so crowded with the 2 lounges. We hardly used it since not very comfortable, imho. My sisters 1754 had a much bigger balcony but still like the other suites balconies better;)

Amazing cabin though and you should enjoy.

We had 1706 and really liked it. It is very close to the door entering the hallway from the the elevators and has a good balcony. We like port side because the ship does NOT dock on the port side and we like an ocean view better than a view of the port. We love a huge balcony and usually go for aft cabins on other ships but the privacy is worth a smaller balcony to us.

We had 1754 and loved it. Great ocean views on sea days, and land views in port. It was also interesting to be towering above the pool decks of any adjacent ships moored nearby.

The suite is very close to the key entry hallway access and the Viking crown lounge. As well as the great ocean views, you could also see along the starboard side of the pool decks when looking out over the railings.

We had 1756 (farthest forward stb side) and thought it was great. We like watching the embark/debark activities and the ship almost always docks starboard side to the pier. Others told us that the suites across the back tended to catch the music from the pool deck to an excessive degree... didn't have those issues where we were.

Thanks for all the replies.

I tried for 1754 because it looks like it has a slightly bigger balcony?

But it was taken.

We settled on 1746 because it was right in the "middle" on the starboard side.

The balcony look a little bigger in the middle (except for 1754 and 1704) and

we too like to watch the activities in port.

Just one more crazy question for those who have been in a CL before...

How did you find the Air Conditioning to work?

We like to have a COOL/COLD cabin especially at night.

I have read some reviews about some cabins A/C not working too well.

I was thinking with a "loft" room there is even more room for hot air to rise, and a LOT more area to COOL.

Was this ever a concern for you?

Thanks again to all.

I know this is a really old thread but this caught my attention and is the room we have booked for Feb. I am hoping someone has some insight on this room! =)
