Diving vs Snorkeling

Our June cruise (Carnival) will include Cozumel and Belize. Our teenage son is PADI certified, but my husband and I are not. Is there someone that could allow him to dive while we snorkel?

Chankanaab would be an excellent choice for this. You can rent the gear there and since it is mandatory to dive with a guide there, he won't be diving along. Rather, he'll get a personally guided tour. The diving there is also fairly shallow, ideal for young people who dive.

You can also go on a boat trip where he can dive and you can snorkel. At least 2 operators offer the combo trip. They are : http://www.blueangel-scuba.com/ and http://www.eagleraydivers.com/WhatsNew.htm

We used eagle ray divers when we went there in March. We are not certified but did a 2 tank discover dive with them and they were GREAT!!!!! I would highly recommend them.
