The next thread titled Cabot Trail is basically asking the same question- suggest keep an eye on feedback there as well. If you search Sydney NS tours there are numerous threads with advice.

Consensus being time in port too short to do whole trail and rent a car or hire private tour/taxi as apposed to bus. Tartan tours seems to have good reputation from cruisers.

Hi! I am bringing my husband. I wanted a more relaxed "scenic" trip instead of a beach cruise. Can anyone who has taken a cruise to this area offer suggestions?

Well in fact we have been to St. John's and Halifax a while back on a cruise. Now we took my mom (who was due for a hip replacement) so we were limited on our excursions.
