boop_57 Posted May 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2005 I've read that the safety deposit box in the guest cabins on Elation can be opened with any card with a magnetic strip, such as a credit card. Is that right??? That doesn't sound very safe. When we've cruise before our steward has always given us a key to our safe deposit box on the first evening. Does anyone know if this is how it works now?
gjules Posted May 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2005 When I was on the Miracle last fall, the box could ONLY be opened by the same card that locked it and you could use either room card or drivers license. If I locked it with MY card, my roomie couldn't open it without me! :) I did hear, though, that there was a possibility of the magnetic strip being de-magnetized over several times of doing this...don't know how true that is, but roomie and I took turns over our seven day cruise.
