Just2guys Posted August 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2012 We cruised on the Paul Gauguin several years ago when it was still part of Regent...but we can't imagine that the crew/company has changed a great deal. Even back then, it sort of operated as an entity by itself. And, we loved the whole experience---it ranked up there as one of the best all-around cruises we have ever taken. Not just for the destination (amazing), but for the service and the atmosphere onboard ship. The crew is very gay-friendly...many of them are part of the family. Additionally, the crowd tends to be mostly Californians in their early-30s to late-40s...and very gay-friendly as well, even though it appears to be a popular "honeymoon" type of trip. Many French speakers aboard as well... It's a long flight...but well worth the effort. Because it is so remote, it seems to attract a different crowd of people than most cruises. Service aboard is very upscale, yet relaxed. Enjoy!
