MamaParrotHead Posted May 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2005 saw this over on the Carnival board. my DH is a big fan of hot sauces as well, and thought I'd ask around re: local favorites. are there any other local specialty condiments that can be purchased? if so, where? thanks! :D
gtaylor Posted May 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2005 The Guavaberry people have a complete line of hot sauces, bbq sauce, etc. You can buy the stuff all over the island, and even online. We regularly stop into markets on the islands in search of hot sauce; it's amazing what great souvenirs you can buy for about $.75. I would recommend Sang's, right across the street from Bobby's Marina. kal has a photo of Sang's on the Eats page of his new St. Maarten collection. wulicny Posted June 10, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2005 I can highly recommend the Guavaberry hot sauce. We bought some last year, and it is very flavorful (and spicy, but not too spicy). Bill
