cincyfire Posted April 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I was wondering, Do people wear costumes on the ship? Is there a halloween party? We will be on the Glory this Halloween, and am wondering if we should take costumes. Thanks for any response
kingrobby25 Posted April 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2004 When i was on the Norwegian Star they had a small haunted house that was for the passengers. it was alot of fun and there was obviously alot of effort put in by the cruise staff and the crew. i think they even had to replace the carpet because of all the silly string and slime they used. dont know about the other ships though. MaryPoppinz Posted April 7, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2004 I was on Golden Princess on Halloween two years ago, but it coincided with Formal Night, so there wasn't much costume action. There were a few, though, including among the crew. "I'm gonna book myself on that Princess Cruise." -- Fox Mulder, X-Files 'Three Words'
fig414 Posted April 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2004 We went on a halloween on carnival around 7 years ago and hardly anyone wore a costume. No big deal at all. Fig Caribbean Princess 5/
debknights Posted April 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2004 I have been on several Halloween cruises, different cruise lines. Probably about 15-20% of ship dressed in costume. My crazy hubby went Trick or Treating to random rooms and most times was just met with laughter. However, some folks put goodies in his bag...gum, shampoo, etc. It was all fun. cincyfire Posted April 12, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Thanks for the responses. It sounds like a costume will be more work than needed.
Orcrone Posted April 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2004 debknights, I hope the people we get seated with on our next cruise are like your husband. Going trick or treating was a great idea.
hajekfam Posted April 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 12, 2004 Halloween fell during our transatlantic cruise last fall. Celebrity held a Halloween party after late seating complete with a costume contest. Dress for the evening was informal or Halloween costume. We bought costumes from a Halloween shop - a little bag that included everything we needed - took up less room than a pair of shorts outfit - went as Julius Ceasar and Cleopatra. I had the black Cleo wig from a previous costume rental. The costume was perfect as we could wear our sandals and didn't have to bring a special pair of shoes.
