Pre paid gratuities increased?

Booked on the Legend in a few weeks and submitted a price drop. It was approved but we seemed to have been charged more in the pre paid gratuities?

 

Old rate ( per person):

Person 1 and 2: $709 + $93.50 tax + $73.00 gratuities

Person 3: $239 + $93.50 tax + $73.00 gratuities

 

New rate ( per person):

Person 1 and 2: $639 + $91.65 tax + $80.50 gratuities

Person 3: $229 + $91.65 tax + $80.50 gratuities

 

Got approval for $133.05 OBC

The current rate for gratuities is $11.50/person/day, so for a 7 day cruise it would be $80.50/person. That rate has been effect since Dec. 1, 2011. Did you originally book before then?

No -Jan 2012.

 

Just found all the old paperwork and it is taxes that have increased. I had my spreadsheet wrong.

 

Taxes have gone from 86.00p/p to 91.65p/p

Yes that can happen....port charges are also in with the taxes and they can change up or down in price. We also had that happen to us in the past while submitting for early saver credit.
