If possible, try and get a russian to buy you your tickets.

 

I did not go to the Marinsky when I was in St. P (too tired), however, when I was in Moscow, the Bolshoi wanted to charge us $90. pp for tickets for the ballet. I got a russian to do it for me and paid the russian price of $2.25 pp for prime orchestra seats. I tipped him and everyone was happy!:)

I don't know if the Marinsky has the same pricing policy as the Bolshoi, but see what you find out.
