I have two girls 9 and 13 they are not mine but i have legal custody of then thru the courts. Will i have any problems i plan on getting passports this week what else would i need?

If their last names are different from yours you

may want to have copies of the custody papers

*just in case* - just my two cents. :)

Provide above and beyond the documentation that you think you might need to acquire passports. If they reject the passport request initially, seems to take forever for them to notify you that you need additional paperwork.

Due to a single letter typo on my birth certificate, my passport application was delayed and only after I had sent in a few metric tons of additional paperwork did they finally accept that I was who I said I was.

DH and I have legal guardianship of our granddaughter. She has a passport but we always take along the court documents stating we have legal guardianship. We have never been asked for them but we want to have them in case they do.
