If their last names are different from yours you may want to have copies of the custody papers *just in case* - just my two cents. :)
hannahsmomtoo Posted October 5, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 5, 2012 I have full custody of my daughter. Her father's rights were terminated when she was a baby. I carry the documents. That said.. I was NOT asked for any documentation when traveling on the Splendor last week.... but better safe than sorry !
cyntil8ing Posted October 5, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 5, 2012 You will need evidence of their citizenship and evidence of your relationship. Here's all the details. http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/minors/minors_834.html
larkz Posted October 6, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 6, 2012 Provide above and beyond the documentation that you think you might need to acquire passports. If they reject the passport request initially, seems to take forever for them to notify you that you need additional paperwork. Due to a single letter typo on my birth certificate, my passport application was delayed and only after I had sent in a few metric tons of additional paperwork did they finally accept that I was who I said I was. Pom Lover Posted October 6, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 6, 2012 DH and I have legal guardianship of our granddaughter. She has a passport but we always take along the court documents stating we have legal guardianship. We have never been asked for them but we want to have them in case they do.
