mdwfolsom1 Posted October 15, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2012 I've been looking at the Norwegian curises and they say that you are in Glacier Bay overnight. Is this right? I would want to see it in the daylight.
ihopfar Posted October 15, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2012 That does not sound right -- I can't imagine a ship going to view any glacier at night. What ship/date are you looking at? I am sure there are many friendly people here who will be able to help you figure it out. :) ---Brad (Although it would be funny if a cruise scheduled this around the time of the summer soltice where it probably does not get dark for long in Glacier Bay.) bonvoyagie Posted October 15, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2012 On the Pearl you are in GB from about 6 am to 3pm hardly overnight. The Sun will do both GB and Hubbard glaciers back to back on sat and sun. The distance between these two glaciers is not that great so either they go real slow at night or indeed pull into a port somewhere - the ship can't overnight in GB NP. The NCL website has had lots of poor or misinformation lately - esp for AK and around the Sun and its cruisetours - which are all new for 2013 so I will cut them a little slack.
