aimodels Posted October 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2012 It all depends on what you're looking for... Check out some of the other threads on here - there's lots of information. Someone even posted a link to an interactive map that gives a brief description of many beaches on the island. The altantic side is rugged with larger waves, the west side is calm and the south is a mix of both. Mullins is on the west side north of B'Town, Carlisle is on the west side south of B'Town and Maxwell is on the south coast, south of The Gap, about 20 minutes or so from B'Town. Cheers, P:)
kayehall Posted October 21, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted October 21, 2012 Thanks, I looked at the interactive map and these are the 3 we narrowed it down to. Just wondering if anyone had a preference and why. Thanks, Kaye
ricks2047 Posted October 22, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 22, 2012 We were on a land only trip and found..... Mullins was a very beautiful beach populated with the upper crust vacationers from the Royal Westmorland. ("It's four o'clock Lovey. Where's our tea?"). Carlisle is a large beach (much larger than just Boat Yard and Lobster Alive. Get out there and walk the beach. The whole bay is beautiful. Since we were there with no cruise ships in town, we had the whole bay pretty much to ourselves. This also means that when you are there you will be there with your own kind (Cruies passengers -vesus- locals and land only). My suggestion (if you are looking for adventure, beauty and real Barbados) get out there to obscure, little known beaches and away from tourist stuff. Because however physically beautiful Barbados is (and it is spectacular), it's true beauty is in its people. Get out there and meet them.
Nole0202 Posted October 25, 2012 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2012 Check out Vrane Beach. Pink sand and like a Hollywood set. After, tour the beautiful NE coast.
