CruiseMuch? Posted October 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2012 Help! We have been to Belize several times. We have done cave tubing, zip lining & we have snorkeled with the sharks/rays. We will be there in January and want a new adventure for 4 adults. Any suggestions? Thank you. SingingPixie Posted October 24, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2012 Any interest in Mayan ruins? That's the other "biggie" that you didn't mention. There are some good ones at varying distances from port- namely Lamanai (longest day, but best-reviewed), Xunantunich (slightly shorter day but still substantial), and Altun Ha (smaller but still a major site, closest to the port). Warmer Climes Posted October 25, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2012 Lamanai, no question. You go up the river and the crew show you wildlife along the way, and then you get to the ruins- wow! I would do this as a ship excursion because it's all day. We have done many, many shore excursions and this one is #1 with everyone in my family of six. CruiseMuch? Posted October 27, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted October 27, 2012 Thanks for the replies. We are not too into ruins but Lamanai sounds very nice. We are considering that (through the ship) or a trip on our own to Cayenne Caulker: water taxi, beach, snorkel, golf cart rental to explore. Etc. Any thoughts? We are open and adventurous.
