joan24 Posted May 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2005 We just returned from a Med cruise on Oceania Regatta. We used Sylvie for a wonderful day. She was on time and we had a great time with her. I know all about the negative things said about her. I think she has "her act together" now and is really trying. I had bad back problems. Sylvie took us to the closest place for each site, parked, and after touring she picked us up so I didn't have to walk as much. If anyone has booked with her you should have a great day. She's really fun to be with. Joan

Is that the going rate for a Monte Carlo, Nice and Cannes tour? So far we do not have anyone to join us. Do you think it is worth that much? joan24 Posted May 26, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted May 26, 2005 We actually paid Sylvie 170E pp. I shared tours with others in 3 other ports. I decided it was worth it to us to tour alone with Sylvie. We toured with her a couple of years ago and wanted to have a relaxing day and stop wherever we chose to. You can post on different boards if you want to share your tour. That's how we found people to share our other tours. Good luck and have a wonderful cruise. Joan

Judyumcer@aol.com Posted July 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 24, 2005 We have Sylvie booked for our Sept. cruise on Oceanis. She has been very good at getting back to us and sounds lovely and flexible to take us where we want to go. Judy
Janice621 Posted July 24, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2005 We just used Sylvie on our Millennium June 20 cruise. There were six of us and the charge was 120 euros per person. Unlike other guides we used in other ports, her price was based on how many people were in your party. We all agreed that she was our favorite guide. She had so much energy and just was a pleasure to be with. Janice

Godskidisme Posted August 24, 2005 #11 Share Posted August 24, 2005 My husband and I just got back from the 12 day Med Cruise on the Grand Princess and we hired Sylvie Di Cristo as our guide and it was one of the best tours we had the whole time. She was absolutely delightful and we had the best time. We saw old Monte Carlo, and drove to Nice and had lunch and ended up back at the Casino in Monte Carlo. She went out of her way to show us what we wanted to see and it was a great tour. If you get the chance to hire her, please do...she is worth every penny. Sea Sojourn Posted August 25, 2005 #13 Share Posted August 25, 2005 We used Sylvie in 2003, and she was lovely. We had a great day. We went from Villefranche to Monaco, Eze (briefly), St. Paul de Vence, Tourettes (my favorite) and a terrific lunch in Nice. We had time to wander Villefrache before getting back on the ship. The scenery was magnificent, and Sylvie was gracious, informative and got us everywhere we wanted to go. Plus, she suggested Tourettes, which I hadn't thought of, but which turned out to be my favorite stop. BTW, if you go to Tourette, if you are interested in woven fabric items - there is a weaver there, Michele... she has the most beautiful ponchos, sweaters, shawls, vests, etc. The loom is in the middle of the room and her stuff is just gorgeous. Have a great time!
Judyumcer@aol.com Posted August 26, 2005 #14 Share Posted August 26, 2005 WE are 4 couples that booked with Sylvie. Has anyone with a group of 8 or more hired her? We are wondering about the van she uses. Is it comfortable enough for 8? Thanx! J.
Janice621 Posted August 26, 2005 #15 Share Posted August 26, 2005 Sylvie does not use her own van. She told us she rents one each day based upon the size of her group. Just to repeat, we had a great day with her.
jerseyblue Posted September 25, 2005 #16 Share Posted September 25, 2005 We just got back from Mille cruise September 2005. We hired Sylvie as our guide. She was excellent. We saw what we wanted Eze, Nice, and St Paul de vence. She was by far the best guide since we also hired in Athens and Rome. She is such an experienced and pleasurable person. If your thinking cost, she was well worth it. We would highly recommend her.
