I don't think they count that and to be honest with you I think they will put another hold of $50.00 on your account if they see you are spending a lot of money. But according to Carnival's new policy the initial hold is only $50.00. I'm not making this up!

They have to count the tips... They are definitely going to put a hold against your account for those, they will make sure they get them somehow ;) Someone else also stated this same policy several months ago, and since then, people have still been seeing the same hold... seems sometimes Carnival puts a new policy in place and then forgets about it :D Better safe than sorry, make sure you have at least $200 that can be used for a hold... I wouldn't rely on something that you hear from calling Carnival...
