bbz Posted November 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2012 In one of his posts, Larry Pimentel said there would be a new excursion to see sumo wrestling when Journey is in Kobe on its March 6th 2013 cruise. We will be on that cruise, and would love to go to a sumo match, but there is nothing in the land excrusion brochure about a sumo excursion. Will this opportunity happen? Hello Bbz - I've learned that we are working with our local tour operator to fine-tune the operational aspects of this unique tour experience so revisions are being considered. Once these details have been finalized, this option will be placed on our website and I'll respond on this thread when you can expect to find that information. In the meantime, I'm sure that these Sumo wrestlers are "bulking up" for our unique experience. Bill Leiber Posted November 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2012 Hello Bbz - I'm pleased to let you know that we plan to add the Sumo Wrestling Tournament special interest experience to the system sometime on Friday, November 16, 2012. Details and pricing will be available at that time. I do know that this "special interest" tour and experience will visit the 2013 March Grand Sumo Tournament in Osaka. Sumo is a competitive full-contact sport where a wrestler (rikishi) attempts to force another wrestler out of a circular ring (dohy) or to touch the ground with anything other than the soles of the feet. Due to the port of call time in Kobe, you will be able to view a number of sumo matches, but not the entire tournament. I'm hopeful that when you read the complete description that you will decide that this experience is truly one-of-a-kind for your personal collection.
