sheruns Posted May 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Do any seasoned Alaska cruisers know of any good running routes in Vancouver and Juneau? We'll be on the Sun Princess, but I'd prefer to do my running off the ship when I can. How's the jogging track on the Sun? I don't intend to spend my whole vacation running, but our cruise coincides with my first week of training for a marthon and I don't want to miss my runs. Thanks! frames Posted May 27, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Stanley Park is a great place for a run in Vancouver. On RCCL - a lap was 1/4 mile, not sure on any other ship. My runs were for 3 miles on the ship - and the best part - I was whale watching the entire time!!! May have been some of the most unique running I've ever done. We'll be on NCL Spirit this summer, I'm sure I'll do somes miles 'whale watching'. You may want to consider a few runs on the ship :) Good luck in your training and enjoy Alaska! sheruns Posted May 27, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Thanks for the info. I looked at your pics and now I know where to run in Anchorage! I'll let my husband rent the bike. Right after I posted my question, literally, I read in the July issue of Runner's World (came yesterday) that there is a Runners Cruise Aug 19-29 on the Sun Princess. How ironic is that? It includes a 1/2 marathon in Anchorage... Humpy's Classic Marathon.
