Can We Use On Board Credit to Pay For Pre-Booked Excursions?

BORDER REIVER

Recommended Posts

Salacia - Thanks. I was assuming incorrectly. My thinking was based on the fact that Cunard is offering very cheap late deals here in the UK for the current season. I had not noticed such big reductions in previous years by Cunard. This made me think that they have more unsold cabins now than previously.

Hi 2irisheyes. The Board of Directors declared a special dividend to distribute surplus profits (as discussed on a previous thread). So, no I don't think changing policy regarding applying on board credits to pre-booked tours is their only way of survival. Regards, -S.

With respect it is not quite so simple as that. Many companies return cash to shareholders when they don't wish to retain it in the bussiness for what ever reason. Carnival are certainly not breaking any records compared with other lines or similar businesses and it is obvious that revenues will suffer when cabins are sold off at reduced rates.

At the very least it would have been nice to have see a little of the distribution spent on sorting out the seating in the planetarium during the last somewhat underwhelming refit.

David.
