Altun Ha Ruins with a 3 and 5 Year Old?

Altun Ha is fine for that age. There certainly isn’t too much walking.

But while the 5-year old may enjoy climbing some of the pyramids, to the 3-year old it will just be just a pile of rocks that have stairs on them, and may not get that much out of the experience.

Also, note that there is no railing or any barrier on any of these pyramids to keep a person from falling 20 to 40 feet down, so it would be appropriate to keep an eye out on them when climbing the pyramids.

Finally, because there is little shade at Altun Ha, make sure that they drink plenty of water.

Your kids will absolutely love it, I was there just a few Months ago and i saw kids running up and down the Pyramids like its a daily routine. You might just want to keep an eye out on them as mentioned above is serious injury can happen if someone were to fall or slip from 20-40ft.
