athenasbyshanna Posted December 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2012 I know it is a silly question, but is it possible for people not cruising to stand somewhere and wave goodbye?
bexstuff Posted December 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2012 I know it is a silly question, but is it possible for people not cruising to stand somewhere and wave goodbye? We waved at the people on the ship parked behind us!! I don't remember about people on the dock or if we could even see it...
jgmpuma Posted December 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2012 There is a walkway from the Riverwalk to the terminals (it passes both of them) and is only about 40 feet from the ships - a great place to wave from (or just to envy the folks leaving on their cruise). It was closed for a while for construction work and then re-opened, but the last time we were down there it was closed again. Once the ships leave, they go to the middle of the river and you can't see much.
athenasbyshanna Posted December 7, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Thanks for the info! A couple of my friends are coming into town with us the night before to hang out for our birthdays, so they were wondering if they could wave us goodbye on the ship! :-)
WLHyatt Posted December 12, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2012 Probably one of the better places is the outside patio area at the riverwalk mall food court. It's right on the river, up about 30 feet from the water. There is also the Moon walk down in front of the St. Louis cathedral that is good to watch ships from. When we went on the Conquest in August we got up at 4 am, drove down and parked by Jax Brewery, then walked over through Woldenburg park to the Moonwalk, to watch the Conquest come up river, knowing full well that we would be onboard in less than 8 hours. That was one of the highlights of our trip.
