wristband Posted December 30, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2014 We used Chris R's company two years ago in both HK & Bangkok. The guide in HK, Jim, was terrific. Two of us had two days of non-stop walking & touring throughout the city, on buses & the subway, all resulted in a fascinating time. We had been to HK 5x previously but our time with Jim opened our eyes to so much more (along with the usual mandatory sites). Chris was very good in advance on emailing details, cost, specific sites etc. The only drawback was where we had lunch for two days. Not great and we should have pressed for more interesting places to eat rather than the bland Cantonese we had. We were happy to pay for our guide but should have insisted on going to two or three places we wanted to. But that is our shortcoming. Otherwise, based on our experiences, I highly recommend Chris and our time with Jim in HK. HK is changing quickly and dramatically, places and parts of the 'old' city are being torn down, gentrified, so see it now and see it with a guide that has lived in HK for years, who is insightful, funny and well-versed in present-day politics, the various cultures shoved together in a small space and the recent past (post-Mao).
