We will be going to Tahiti sailing on the Oceania Marina 4/5/14. Leaving from JFK but not sure of timing and the need to book hotel in Tahiti. Also I see all flights from Tahiti back to US mainland is at 11:49 p.m. So what do you do all day prior to this flight? Help!!

This is not true, Air France leaves in the morning but not every day. You should first check if the ship makes arrangements for a day room, which they might do, especially if the air is booked through them. If not, and you have a late flight, Most people suggest a day room, and the most frequent recommendation is for the Intercontinental in Faaa, near the airport.

As to the arrival, if you can, come in a few days early and go stay on Moorea, if you can't and only want one night ahead, the IC Tahiti is again supposed to be a good choice.

Also, with it being more than a year ahead, you won't be able to get actual flight schedules for your dates yet, and they do change, so although it helps to estimate, you won't know for sure until May.

Happy planning!
