mathgeek1978 Posted January 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2013 We are planning to stay there for a night pre-cruise but have read very mixed reviews about the place -- everything from "outstanding" to "terrible". Would someone who has actually stayed there at the hotel and/or used their 24-hour restaurant/bar service give a fair review? BTW, we choose this hotel for its 24-hour bar/restaurant/nightlife as well as its proximity to the airboat ride, which we can take the morning before going to the ship. Thanks in advance! fireofficer5 Posted January 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2013 I've never stayed there. I've gambled there. Its ok to smoke there, anywhere inside or out side. To see the everglades this is the place to base your self at. There is nothing else in the area except the everglades. It is a very nice property, spanish is a pluse. Johncn Posted January 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Hi, We stayed and gambled there a few years ago, and found it to be comparable to a mid-market casino in Las Vegas. It's a tribal casino in the middle of nowhere (edge of the Everglades), and we arrived at night. It appeared out of the gloom like a mirage. ;-) The rooms were nice enough, the rate was decent, the food unremarkable, and as the other poster says, smokers have free run of the floor. Gambling is the main event...and I don't remember much about entertainment other than there was a band. Regards, Johncn
