Just about every restaurant that does fried seafood will do fried softshell crabs. Literally hundreds (and more hundreds) of dining establishments. It might be harder to find a restaurant that doesn't have soft shell crab on the menu. I'm sure three will be other posters that may have suggestions on specific restaurants. But, as stated, there are plenty. It's not a secret of a certain eatery.
jgmpuma Posted January 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2013 Deanie's, 841 Iberville Street. I can't think of another place in NO that does better fried seafood. It looks touristy but is completely local.

jlpcruiser Posted February 15, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 15, 2013 http://johnnyspoboys.com/ Johnnys in the Quarter on Rue St Louis Just an fyi - this place is cash only but really good - Muffalettas (1/2 size is enough) are great for people who don't like seafood. Also - Deanie's is excellent for any seafood. Been there many times and even had our rehearsal dinner in a private room there when we got married last year. No one was disappointed. :D
