cruizinmama Posted January 13, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2013 We will be in Curacao in a couple weeks for the first time. We will be there from 7A-5P. Trying to figure out something to do. We love to walk around and shop, explore and we really like to go to the beach. We are in our 40s and will only be the 2 of us.We've been looking at beaches and found Blue bay Beach and Cas Abao Beach. Is one better then the other? Which one would be easier/cheaper to get to? We sometimes snorkel but just relaxing and wading in the ocean is just perfect. Is one better for drinks & food? Is there anything close, walking distance to the ship like shopping etc? We're Kind of thinking to take a taxi to a beach for awhile then taxi back to the port and if there is any shopping will do that then walk back to the ship. Blue Bay is way easier and cheaper to get to. Cas Abao is more beautiful though, but a cab ride will be expensive. The town of Willemstad is right there where you dock, easy walking, lots of shops and restaurants.
cruiseapril Posted January 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2013 We liked going to Blue Bay in the morning, back to the ship for lunch, and exploring Willemstad in the afternoon. This way, we are back in town in the afternoon near the ship- no hurry.
cruizinmama Posted January 16, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted January 16, 2013 Thanks for the input. How far away is Blue Bay from the ships? What do you think a taxi will cost for 2?
curacaoqueen Posted January 16, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2013 Thanks for the input. How far away is Blue Bay from the ships? What do you think a taxi will cost for 2? Maybe 15 min from the ship, I could guesstimate taxi might be around $
