Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. I actually took a lot of time to research this and I called my friend up in Rabat, Morocco and I also spoke with a few Moroccans that work in my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant near my house.... they all said the same thing - the drive is simply too dangerous because of the terrain and that more people die on that road than anywhere else in Morocco. So, needless to say - we're not going to do it after all.

 

After doing more research about Agadir, I don't think we're as disappointed because from what we understand, it's a beautiful city with lots to do.... ;)

 

Hi Billy, Matt & Anybody Else,

 

As I had mentioned in an earlier posting, we are booked on the Celebrity excursion in Agadir to Marrakech. On further research, it looks like it is a 3-hour trip one way, which means a good part of the day on the road.

 

Contrary to what Billy & Matt has found, my research seems to indicate that there is not much to see in Agadir, except for the souk and medina - we have seen a few of these in other middle-eastern towns and cities. The only other alternative appears to be Taroudant, which is described as a smaller version of Marrakech. I have found a tour company from Trip Advisor offering an excursion to Taroudant for 30 Euros per person, cheaper if there are more than 6 persons. Anybody else interested in joining us?

Hi Everyone!

 

Ok so I've booked a private transfer between Livorno and Florence. The driver will stop in Pisa if we absolutely have to. (For those of us that have been there, we all know that we don't need to do that again)

 

Anyway, I've got a van that seats 8 passengers and there are only 3 of us. That said, I'm opening it up to five additional people that want to join us.

 

This basically will be a Round-Trip Transfer and a short escorted tour of Florence.

 

The total cost per person (if we can get 8) will come to on 40 Euros per person.

Actually as it turned out to be - I don't think we're going to do this after all because the price jumped up. I think we'll do the train instead. :(

So excited tomorrow my partner and our Friend Vodka Marie are flying out, I'm flying out Friday and we're meeting in Rome on Saturday at the airport, Woooohooooo!!! See you all very soon!!:p:p:p:):):)

This is it! We're flying today from Orlando to Atlanta then Atlanta to Rome. We arrive on Friday Morning (11/21) at around 8:30AM.

 

Our apartment is 2 blocks from the Vatican so if you're in the area and want to explore central Rome - let me know! I'll be checking this board when we land!
