foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #201 Share Posted February 20, 2013 I loved the market. I had to be sneaky with the photos, because my dear friend in France who spends his winters on the Island had all ready warned me that stores/stalls get upset if you take photos and don't buy anything. I spent a Euro and got some fresh nutmeg ;)
foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #202 Share Posted February 20, 2013 The rest rooms were free and quite nice at the port.
foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #203 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Live chicken shop straight ahead! Okay directions..I am standing on the right hand side of the square in front of a Bridal Shop - if you want to go to the book store (not sure if they had any English books sorry) follow the street at the Shawarma store. (away from market square but not back to the ship). So a RIGHT if your standing where I am. Once you make it to the book store walk about 1/4 of a block and you will see red tiled store. That is a butchers. We got a whole roasted chicken dor 6.50Euro. They also had sides. Now,I only spent 1/2 a day in town, but I never found a cafe, or main restaurants that I would want to eat at. It is a working town, not a tourist town. I did find a rather portly Frenchman, and he was kind enough to give me directions to a local pastry shop. back on the ship for lunch! rest and then diner! foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #206 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Looking up to the 12th deck. Breakfast in the dining room - I don't recall I all ready spoke about the man, his Rice Crispy s and how rude he came across. ?.
foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #207 Share Posted February 20, 2013 I think its funny my Dh does not like breakfast in the dining room- he says he can never find the selection like in the buffet..LOL
foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #208 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Seating at front of the ship. In 7 days I never saw ANYONE use it. So today I was feeling cold coming on and as I had already been to Barbados,DH andDD got off. I spent the day doing"Spa type things" and they went on a tour! foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #211 Share Posted February 20, 2013 The Prime rib on both cruises were so so.I can't say for sure, but it reminded me of vacuumed packed meat. Sliced, and packed. Meh. Now,I did have to say, two nights in the dining room I ordered a steak - the first night it was so good, I thought it made a wrong turn heading up to Chops and got lost in the MDR. it was wonderful. as you can see I had steak again- different cut- and it was just okay. Sizzler style I would call it.
foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #212 Share Posted February 20, 2013 Why do they bother with Baked Alaska if this is all they can turn out? What a disappointment. Champagne Bar. I noticed they did not serve chocolate covered strawberries like they did on our LOS TA.

foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #214 Share Posted February 20, 2013 So - HUGE disappointment! We were told it was Pirate night and that the kids would do a parade. So we made sure to arrive early and get great seats - only to notice that the children never arrived! So we ran to the other area thinking we made a error, but no they were not there either! In a panic we run up to kids club feeling like the worst parents in the WORLD.. only to find out that they did not in effect have pirate night! they did a treasure hunt! Early morning, Windjammer Cafe Sea day - towels are out at 6am!
foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #215 Share Posted February 20, 2013 I think that the Brilliance is a great ship, I love the decor but would only change two things - I would make sure they had a Bolero's and I would add MORE ELEVATORS! In case you never noticed, you can push the elevator buttons from the ship. They had a great selection of books. So much better then Monarch and LOS. foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #219 Share Posted February 20, 2013 We went to the children's pool and played around. Then I went back for a rest and ordered room service. It was not good at all. we went to play bingo, and my FIL won $100 on the first game, and I was ONE number away from the FREE CRUISE!

foxesden1 Posted February 20, 2013 Author #224 Share Posted February 20, 2013 What a disappointment. After the final show they told everyone to head out for a surprise..(we were cruising one week into the new year) the CD and ACD (they were pretty much the worst we have ever had). Then tried to get everyone to sing Auld Langs Syne.. which is a wonderful moving song, IF you happen to have someone who can sing it.. so everyone can sing along.. in this case, no one could sing it, including the CD. It was a EPIC FAIL of a event. And I loved the flags being held upside down.. Getting ready to leave.. After MANY visits to the Guest Services desk, we were given number 2 tags, written with sharpies. We arrived on time,to disembark, at 5min before they called us, my DH has to go to the WC. Making us in effect be at the end of the line - I could have kicked him.
