Safety around OSJ

This may seem like a silly questions, but is it safe to walk around at night in OSJ? We are staying at Le Villa Herencia and it looks like its walking distance to a few restauarants and not that far away from senor frogs. We are travelling as a group of 6. Should we take a cab back at the end of the night, or is walking safe?

It is fine. We have been several times and were just there last month. Most areas are very well lit and patrolled by the police.

It's very safe to walk around in OSJ at night, we've done it many times and never felt at risk. Enjoy the atmosphere! It's great! We'll be there in April, can't wait!!:D

OSJ is safe to walk. Just don't be obnoxious drunks or anything. :D

 

Stay inside the city walls. There is a neighborhood just outside the city walls between the two forts along the water called La Perla, it's bad. From what I've heard the police don't even go in there.
