lenaris Posted January 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2013 Hi there. Due to work obligations, we booked 3/10 passage on the star. Sounded like a good idea at the time, but now I am wondering- Do you think it will be many orders of magnitude wilder than normal? I am very tolerant of others, so partying and acting crazy within limits in public areas is fine. I don't like anyone messing with my sleep after a reasonable hour (~1-2 AM). What do you think? Rare rjm11 Posted February 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2013 we've cruised in March to the Caribbean the last two years (last year on the Star to the Western Caribbean like you- but it was out of Tampa) and neither time felt that it was more rowdy than any other cruise. Of course we have smaller kids, so we spent most of our time in places like the kids pool, the restaurants, the casino some, and the shows... not much time in the bars/clubs.... but nevertheless I didn't think it was a much different crowd. gymbomb Posted February 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2013 I think it will be fine -- I've cruised at that time 2 of the last 3 years (5 night on NCL Dawn and 7 night on Grand Princess) with no problems. I am usually in bed around 10 and didn't have any issues with noise at night. Can't wait for my next cruise on March 9.
Ilovesailing Posted February 2, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2013 If you have issues after hours (11:00/12 pm) call security, that's what there there for. We had an issue on our Hawaii cruise a few years ago and we called security after the second night, what we didn't know was that the couple on the other side had also called. On the second to last night they had trashed one of the lounges by pulling plants of out planters and knocking them over. They were escorted off the ship the next morning and they had a security personnel sitting outside of their room so they were obviously told they could not leave there room.
