Bringing metal detector on ship/looking for treasures.

Hi,

Going to Bermuda on the Crown in a couple weeks and my friend's husband

would like to bring a metal detector to use on the beach.

Are there any restrictions to bringing a detector on the ship?

Has anyone done this in Bermuda and found hidden treasures?????

Thanks.

This may sound strange-- Metal Detectors: Guests are not permitted to use metal detectors on board because anything found on board would "belong" to Cruise Lines. We would then try to return the item to the guest.

It doesnt say anything about taking the metal detector onboard with you-- and using on the beaches. As long as the beach was public and not private....

All I can offer is we were on one of our Tahiti trips and there was a fellow from our ship we saw many times on the beach with his detector. Never asked him, but assume he had no problem getting it on and off the ship. This was on Princess.....
